Hiddush Passover 2014
Hiddush's Passover Supplement has become a tradition in preparing for the Festival of Freedom. This year, we are pleased to offer you a selection of texts prepared by Hiddush CEO Rabbi Uri Regev that includes a variety of both in-depth and concise explorations of the holiday's themes of freedom of religion, equality, pluralism, and the universal responsibility to uphold and pursue social justice. This year's supplement can be read as part of the personal holiday preparation or shared at your seder table. Take a look- the choice is yours!
Additionally, Hiddush views Passover as an excellent opportunity to remind ourselves of the basic freedoms in Israel that all Israelis and world Jewry should enjoy, but because the Israeli Chief Rabbinate's Orthodox monopoly on personal status, this is not yet the reality. Freedom of marriage and freedom of divorce clearly fall under the category of the freedom of religion and equality that Israel's founders envisioned for the Jewish and democratic state, but these basic human rights have yet to be fully realized.

In the past year, Hiddush has made great strides in the struggle for marriage freedom (most memorably with the launching of the Freedom of Marriage World Map) and Passover is a well-fitting opportunity to renew these desperately-needed efforts. We invite you to incorporate Hiddush's Passover Supplement into your own celebration of freedom this year and encourage you to share these words with your family and friends.
